While you can adjust employee leave at an individual level you'll save a lot of time if you make sure that the company defaults are correct first. So, how generous are you feeling?
- Head over to the settings page by clicking on the 'More' button at the bottom of your screen and selecting 'Settings' from the list.
- Open the Team dropdown and select the 'Leave' tab.
- Update any necessary settings, then click the save button at the top of the screen.
- The 'Default leave approver' is the member of staff who will automatically be set as the leave approver for any new employees.
- 'Leave notice required' controls how many days' notice an employee needs to give when booking leave.
- The 'Name' field allows you to choose how Annual Leave is referenced in the 'Type of leave' dropdown when adding leave. If your employees are used to referring to it as 'Holiday' or 'Time Off' instead of Leave then this is the place to set it.
- 'Default entitlement' is the standard number of days of annual leave that you offer. This will be applied automatically when you add new employees but you'll be able to adjust it on a case-by-case basis.
- 'Runs from' allows you to choose which month the holiday year starts on.
