How do I add leave for an employee? (Mobile)

Typically employees will submit their own leave requests through Shiftie, ready for you to approve or deny as appropriate. Occasionally you might need to add leave for them though; that's where this guide comes in.

  1. Head over to the team page by clicking on the 'More' button at the bottom of your screen and selecting 'Team' from the menu. Select the Leave tab.
  2. Click the plus button at the bottom right of your screen, and select 'Add Leave'.
  3. Select the employee you want to add leave for from the dropdown, then fill out the date on which the employee's leave will start, and choose whether the employee will be taking a full or half day's leave.
    1. If you select 'Full Day' you will then have to choose the leave end date. If the employee is only taking one day off then the end date should be the same as the start date.
    2. If you select 'Half Day' you will have to choose whether the half-day is the morning or the afternoon.
  4. Next, choose the type of leave that the employee will be taking. If you are booking annual leave you may need to check that it has been enabled for the employee.
    1. You'll need to be aware that holiday days will count toward the employee's annual leave allowance but other types of leave won't.
  5. If you want to add a note against the leave you can enter this in the 'Message' field.
  6. Once you're happy with the request click to confirm at the bottom of the form.

If an employee doesn't really qualify for leave but won't be able to work shifts at particular times then you might want to look at updating their availability instead.
