How do I add a missing timesheet entry for a scheduled shift? (Desktop)

Modified on Wed, 24 Jan at 8:58 AM

Planning your schedule with Shiftie is only half the story; ensuring your staff are turning up on time and clocking into their shifts can be the troublesome other half. If you’re fed up of team members showing up for shifts but forgetting to clock in then you’ll be pleased to hear that we have a quick solution for those clowns.

  1. Head over to the timesheets page by clicking on the 'Timesheets' navigation item on the left of your screen.

  2. Use the pay period selector above the employee menu to select the period you want to add a timesheet for. A period with a green padlock icon is locked and new timesheets cannot be added to it unless unlocked.

  3. Find the employee you need to create a timesheet for in the menu. The filters and search can be used to make this quicker if you have a long list of employees. Click on the employee to view their timesheets.

  4. In the header on the right use the toggle to “Show Shifts”. This will display all the selected employee’s published shifts for each day in the pay period.

  5. Find the day when the employee was scheduled to work but forgot to clock in and then hover over the row. On the left, a blue plus action menu will appear. Clicking on it will open a menu with the option to “Add Scheduled Details”.

  6. This option will quickly add the shift details into a new timesheet entry for you. If any details need to be adjusted you can always “Edit” them from the action menu on the right of the timesheet row.
