One size definitely doesn't fit all. That's why we let you control the settings that govern your schedule.
- Head over to the settings page by clicking on the 'More' button at the bottom of your screen and selecting 'Settings' from the list.
- Open the Scheduling dropdown and select the 'Settings' tab.
- Update any necessary settings, then click the save button at the top of the screen.
- Allowing employees to clock in without a scheduled shift can be really useful if you've had to ask a team member to work at short notice and really don't have time to be messing around getting a shift set up for them. Instead, the employee can just clock in on their dashboard and then clock out again once the shift's done; we'll create an entry in their timesheet to show what they worked and you can focus on panicking about everything else instead.
- You can choose whether employees are able to see who else will be working on a particular shift. This can be helpful if you think they're more likely to show up if they know who they're working with, or deeply unhelpful if they'll call in sick if they've been scheduled to work alongside their arch-nemesis. Either way, the choice is yours.
- You can also control whether employees can see shifts that are suitable for their job role but which they aren't assigned to work. Will this give them a better overview of what's going on when they're not in, allowing them to come to work better prepared? Probably. Is it going to result in every single employee immediately trying to swap to a different shift? Perhaps. You're just going to have to work out whether the risk is worth it.
