How do I enable shift swapping? (Desktop)

Modified on Fri, 8 Dec, 2023 at 5:25 PM

Want to allow your team to swap shifts between one another, allowing everyone to end up with a schedule to suit them? You're in the right place.

Worried that that way lies madness, chaos, and a ruined schedule? Not a problem; you can require a manager to sign off any swaps before they're confirmed, double-checking shift costs and weekly working hours just to be safe.

  1. Head over to the settings page by clicking on the cog icon at the bottom left of your screen.
  2. Select the 'Settings' tab under the Scheduling heading on the left of the screen.
  3. Enable the toggle labelled 'Allow employees to swap shifts'.
  4. Select whether or not you want swaps to be sent to a manager for approval once they've been agreed between employees, or if you're happy for employees to arrange them without supervision.
  5. Set a shift swap cut-off time; this will be how long before a shift starts that an employee is still able to swap it. For instance, you might decide that employees can only swap shifts up to 24 hours before the shift is due to begin.
  6. Once you're happy with the settings click the Save button at the bottom of the screen.
